We handle each handmade oriental silk-rug, wool-rug, cotton-rug with utmost care since 1978. We have special techniques for area rug cleaning. Our techniques go back hundred of years and have been refined over the years. We always advise rug lovers to use clean water and a damp cloth to clean your rugs at home. We wash each rug by hand and special organic shampoos. Just as vacuuming is hazardous to all handmade rugs, machine washing area rugs is equally hazardous. It breaks the fine fibers that knotted into the rug. Hand Washing area rugs is the only way to get them cleaned and to mint condition.
On arrival, each rug will be assessed and suggestion given to our dear customers. We care for your rug as much as you care for your heirloom and special rug.
Our organic-hand-washing method of washing rugs comes from a special technique that has been documented in “Persian History of Rug Making & Rug Washing“, and is used today.
AREA RUG DALLAS INSPECTION PROCESS
Once customers bring in their valuable areal rug Dallas for cleaning, we inspect them thoroughly. Each rug is unique. Area rugs come in different making and fibers; Natural-silk, viscose-rayon-silk, wool-on-wool, wool-on-cotton, and cotton-on-cotton. The inspection process for each is similar, yet, they washing and caring of each rug differs. Natural silk rug is made of natural fibers that of a silk-worm; some silk rugs are made of viscose-rayon-silk, art-silk, bamboo-silk, and other types of synthetic silks. To the untrained eye, they all look alike. However, we have special technique to differentiate the synthetic silk rug from the natural silk rug. Our experts at Behnam Rugs will explain the matter during the silk rug inspection process. If the rug has no damages, we schedule an organic hand wash for the rug. But, if the rug endured some wear and tear, and depending how the situation is, we might suggest first to repair the damaged area, then to conduct an area rug cleaning or even area rug cleaning.
